About Elliott

Welcome and thank you for visiting my page. My name is Elliott Ross (he/him). I am a professional licensed mental health counselor, and I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community, adolescents and young adults.

I come to the counseling field from the world of education. Teaching revealed the power and importance of creating intentional spaces to process and explore the intersections of our lives, who we are, and where we’re going.

I found myself impassioned by the positive impact of these spaces and pursed my M.A. in clinical mental health counseling at the University of Colorado - Denver. I have since worked with individuals across various ages and backgrounds in different clinical settings including crisis work, in-patient treatment, and outpatient care.

Outside of my practice I enjoy walking my dogs, biking, playing games, and spending time with loved ones over shared meals and laughter.

Remember being a kid? It was complicated. Changing relationships, bodies, and beliefs — it was confusing at best, lonely and painful at its worst.

Is adulthood much different?

People need the opportunity to talk about their experiences in the world in order to thrive. Everyone benefits from a place to feel understood, process difficult emotions, and practice new skills without fear of judgment.

My work lies in cultivating this environment for my clients, regardless of age. We live in a world that bombards us with non-stop stimulation. Therapy offers a reflective space to slow down and get curious in order to make healthy and lasting change.
